DES MOINES BLM CALLS FOR DAY OF MOURNING

Any Black life taken has an impact on our community. Des Moines BLM is sending our condolences and love to the loved ones and friends of Sir William Bekish. We see you King. You will not be forgotten. This is a day of mourning for a fallen Black soul. The city of Des Moines has lost a cherished community member.

Des Moines BLM is observing a day of mourning for Sir William Bekish. We have decided to postpone todayʼs Black Pride event until this coming Tuesday. More information will be released soon.

On Tuesday, June 23, another community member was murdered. Paye Blawou, we see you. We love you. You will not be forgotten.

We must look out for and protect one another today and always.
