DSM BLM Collective is a member of Buffalo Rebellion, a multi-racial, multi-generational coalition for climate action here in Iowa. Buffalo Rebellion has been organizing since 2021 to protect the land, water, and air that is essential for health and life of all living beings.

In April 2022, Buffalo Rebellion held the first Iowa Climate Justice Summit in Des Moines to gather passionate individuals and groups from around the state to discuss the most pressing environmental issues we face, including MidAmerican’s coal plants and the proposed carbon capture pipelines.

In October 2023, the second Iowa Climate Justice Summit was held in Des Moines.
