Iowa COVID-19 Memorial at the Iowa State Capitol
Tuesday, March 9 at 1pm
We invite you to safely gather in memory of those whose lives were taken due to the pandemic and to encourage public health measures to prevent future deaths. We will gather to acknowledge many of the groups in Iowa most harmed by the pandemic, to grieve together, and to commit ourselves and encourage our elected representatives to care for the whole community.
We will gather at the main steps to the west of the Iowa State Capitol.
Parking should be available along Finkbine Dr., south of the Capitol Building, and East of the Capitol Building.
If you are bringing flowers, please arrive early to place them in anticipation of the event.
For those who want or need it, we will livestream the event in English and in Spanish in the Facebook event: https://bit.ly/3af2F4r and will have Spanish and ASL interpretation.
Safety precautions: masks required, keep your distance from others (6+ feet).
Please wear weather appropriate attire.
